Just popping in for a quick update. There’s still a hold-up getting the decks into your hands but we’re feeling hopeful!!! 

Finally some good news, there’s a legal challenge in motion and a major hearing is scheduled for the end of July. If things go well we could finally see those tariffs lifted or changed which would make it possible for us to move forward!!! I am extremely hopeful, these tariffs are not popular and nobody wants them. 

This has been such a long journey and your patience and support mean the world. We’re staying ready and hopeful and I’ll keep you posted as soon as we hear more!

I hope everyone who celebrated had a beautiful Mother’s Day. It’s been a tough couple of weeks—both my kids and I came down with the rotavirus, but we’re finally starting to feel better.

It’s also been two weeks since my last update, so here’s where we are now:

I need to be honest: the delays and unexpected costs have affected every aspect of this project—our timeline, our budget, our future plans. At this point, we’re not even sure what the future of 78 Tarot looks like. That’s a heartbreaking thing to admit, but I want to be transparent with you, always.

Trish, who normally handles messages and comments, is currently dealing with a family emergency, so I’ll be handling any urgent communications. Please feel free to reach out to me directly at [email protected], especially since I’m not currently on social media.

Hello!

I’ve been getting a lot of messages from people who either A. Do not understand tariffs, or B. Did not fully understand my timeline.

I realize tariffs can be confusing, so let me break this down clearly:

The decks and all add-ons are currently in China. Importing them from China to the USA now incurs a 145% tariff. This means we have to pay customs 145% of the declared value.

I sincerely want to thank everyone for your patience and kindness while we navigate this issue. Unfortunately, it’s not a simple fix—though I truly wish it was. Many indie creators are facing the same challenges, and all we ask for is patience and grace. To everyone who has extended that to me, thank you deeply.

For now, I’m gathering all the files and providing everyone with digital links. I understand this isn’t the same as holding the physical deck, but until we can safely transport these items to a port that doesn’t impose these extreme tariffs, this is the best solution available.

I’ve been crowdfunding and running our business for ten years. Those who’ve been with us from the start know that I pride myself on responsibility and transparency. If you have any questions or concerns, please email me directly—I don’t receive notifications for comments, and Trish is currently busy with family matters and unable to manage comment responses as she usually does.

Thank you again for your kindness and patience. It truly helps us get through one of the toughest and most challenging periods we’ve ever faced.

As soon as we have a solution to this problem I will let you know. Hopefully sooner than later. Nobody wants to fulfill this project more than we do.

Hello all,

It has been too long since I last updated and we can only apologise for it. We have never ever had so many issues with a project and it is taking all of Kayti and Trish’s time to resolve these.

We had lined up a printer as you know for Anniversary who stole our deposit and ghosted us. We found a new printer who was responsive and knowledgeable - we wanted them to print Anniversary 1st to get that project to backers ASAP. Then get them on nautical while they were working on Anniversary/as soon as they finished.

But Anniversary has been set with more and more delays including misprinted calendars (we are paying to reprint them with the year 2026) and issues with the box so they have had to focus on that before finishing nautical.

This is not where we wanted to be. It has cost a fortune to resolve this. We’ve never had such delays in all ten years we have been doing this. It has broken our hearts. But we refuse to let it get us down. 

We will deliver both projects to our backers.

But it has taken its toll. We have shelved every project (apart from the Masters decks that we are committed to with artists).

And we have no current plans to start a new deck. That hopefully will change in the future. 

We have been wracking our brain to figure out what we can afford to give you all (all our backers) and we think we have it. Kayti, with the help of her software engineer husband has been very (very) slowly learning to build apps! And we thought it would be a fun project to build a 78 tarot app together!!!! What does this mean? It means you all get to help design what’s in it! 

We will build it together and then! Our backers (you) will get exclusive content that only backers get. Our way of giving back. And hey with all this awful printing news our spirits have been really dampened so we could use a fun to thing to look forward to! And we actually have time now since we are just in the process of waiting for our printer to finish the jobs.  

So lookout for some fun in a few weeks! Kaytis son turns five April 14th so that is where her priority lies but after that we will have some fun!

We will let you know the second we have any more information about exact dates. We are doing everything we can to get this done as quickly as possible.
